We're proud to be one of the longest standing martial arts schools of any kind in the Windsor-Essex region of Ontario. We invite you to participate in a trial class for free, and to learn more about the Korean martial art of Tae Kwon Do. We've been around for a long time for a number of reasons, but mostly because we are a traditional martial arts school, and not a kicking and punching gym.
Certainly some students choose to join because "it looks cool". Diligent and disciplined training is not for everyone though, and it quickly becomes too difficult or uninteresting for those who just want to "break stuff". We are not an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) club trying to develop the next "Ultimate Fighter". We are a school built on the principles of the Korean art of Tae Kwon Do.
Our long-standing students already know the many benefits of training in the art. Benefits that go well beyond the practicing of techniques like the middle-punch and front snap-kick that you'll first learn. Over time, comes improved strength, speed, balance, flexibility, and stamina.
But beyond the teaching of tangible techniques for striking, breathing, jumping, and even falling, we work hard to instill intangible qualities in our students.
Students are taught to respect their instructors and authority figures, each other, and themselves. They are taught patience, trust, discipline, sportsmanship, and loyalty. They are taught these things through training exercises that depend on cooperation. The members of the group can only succeed together, if every member strives to become a strong link in the chain.
